J Hud’s Key to the Cure

Chicago's own, Jennifer Hudson, is teaming up with Saks Fifth Avenue for their 2011 "Key to the Cure" campaign for breast cancer research. And, you can be a part of the campaign by purchasing the Elie Tahari designed t-shirt that you see Jennifer wearing.

Chicago starlet, Grammy and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson not only holds the key to our hearts, but also, is now acting as the spokeswoman for Saks Fifth Avenue’s 2011 Key to the Cure campaign.

As the ambassador for this years initiative Hudson and the limited edition Elie Tahari-designed T-shirt will appear in September and October publications, and will makes its debut at Saks on Oct. 1. The 2011 design— is an image of a heart formed by a series of keys. Tahari noted, “The heart is made out of keys that are rough around the edges. This is [intentionally] not a perfect heart because these are terrible diseases we are fighting.”

The Chicagoan will celebrate a launch event at Saks in N.Y.C. at a private cocktail party, before the retailer’s charity shopping weekend from Oct. 20 to 23 at all Saks and Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th stores, as well as saks.com. The Key to the Cure initiative will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund through sales of the $35 T-shirt.

Hudson said, “Women’s cancers have touched all of our lives. I am proud to join the Entertainment Industry Foundation and Saks Fifth Avenue in their efforts to raise funds for important research through EIF’s Cancer Research Fund. ”

Tahari’s goal, “To sell out of all the shirts in the weekend.” So, add to your fall shopping list a Key to the Cure t-shirt and support your fellow Chicagoan and Breast Cancer Research.
