My Kentucky Derby wish list

So, you’ve picked the best horse, prepared your palette for your annual mint julep but one thing is missing in the trifecta. What are you going to wear to celebrate the annual "Greatest Two Minutes in Sports?" 

This week I’ve styled the ultimate in Derby attire from Chicago’s best boutiques to make your mark at the city’s most fashionable charity event benefitting Chicago Children’s Charities. Derby attendees spend more on race-day apparel as they do at the betting window and I can’t wait to see Derby fashionistas race to be declared best dressed.

Saturday, May 7th, the 8th Annual Derby Party will be in full swing at Zella’s in Lincoln Park. This Kentucky Derby event is not to be missed with some 450 of Chicago’s most charitable dressed to impress. There is more than just fashion- if that really exists. Local hat boutiqueGoorin will be on site selling hats in case you’ve run out of time come race day. CCC will also have a photo booth with fun derby props for guests to take photos, mint juleps will be served in the (proper) mint julep cups this year and raffle items include a 7 day stay in a beach house in Sanibel Florida for 10 people, a golf package at Onwentisa, White Sox and Cubs tickets a horse racing package at Arlington Heights and many more. There will also be a best dressed contest with great prizes for the winners, so get inspired by these garments and you’ll be sure to make the list!
