1) New Balance newSKY shoe, $94.99. You'll feel good about walking in these! The upper material of these minimalist, fashion-forward athletic shoes are made of out 95% PET (recycled plastic bottles).
2) KOBO Peace on Earth pure soy candle, $38. This candle is so pretty that there's no need to waste wrapping paper! It is made of domestically grown sustainable soybeans and it has a long, clean burn. The scent is a wonderful woodsy medley of cedar and birch blended with fresh-picked rosemary.
3) Oh, Little Rabbit Alpine dinner napkins, $20 for set of 4. Don't be afraid to use your fancy napkins! These screen-printed cloth napkins are made of organic cotton. They come in a variety of cute prints, but these have such a great, not-so-over-the-top holiday feel.
4) Andean Collection Quarry infinity scarf, $58.95. I just love it when a scarf has no end. This fair trade infinity scarf was made by artisans in Ecuador. Andean creates modern products using age-old techniques, natural materials and sustainable methods of production.
5) LUSH Buffy body butter, $22.95. LUSH has amazing fresh, handmade bath & body products. The slight roughness of the ground rice in the Buffy sloughs away surface dry skin cells to reveal a brighter, fresher looking skin. Also good for men – it raises the beard prior to shaving.
6) World Finds Foliage filigree earrings, $34.95. These adorable sterling silver, fair trade earrings are made by artisans who are part of a fair trade organization in Bali, Indonesia. They are all handmade with a lot of heart.
7) WeWood Date watch, $119. What man doesn't love a new watch? This men's watch is made of 100% natural wood, is hypo-allergenic, and free of toxic chemicals. Bet he won't have one like this!
8) H&M Conscious Collection skirt, $29.95. This super cute holiday skirt from H&M's new collection of eco-friendly clothing is made of 65% recycled polyamide.
9) Alternative Apparel Canyon Rock crossbody bag, $180. A crossbody carryall is a must for any Chicago girl, and this one is versatile with a handle and a long strap. Alternative Apparel is a company I admire for their social responsibility with their vendors and the environment.
10) Lara Miller Callie flip cardigan, $352. Lara Miller's sustainable clothing is versatile and comfortable while still being very fashionable. This cardigan is made of 100% hand-loomed bamboo and made in Chicago.
11) ThinkGeek Staple-free staplers, $8.99 each. A cute stocking stuffer that can save a ton of staples at the office! (And be a little work buddy for your desk!)
12) bobble Water jug, $34.99. Your water will get a slick, new friend with the bobble water-filtering jug. It's BPA-free, fast-filling, slim, 100% recyclable (including the filters), and made of recycled PET. And, they come in a spectrum of colors to choose from!
