Vow To Be Chic: Bridesmaid Dresses Without The Commitment

We've heard it before, "I'm so excited! You can totally wear this dress again," says the bubbly bride-to-be. Well, we all know. It's a lie. 99.5% of the time you don't and then donate.

Need a solution? Wedding bells meet Rent The Runway, as co-founders Kelsey Doorey and Amy Walker launch Vow To Be Chic, an online wedding boutique dedicated to bridesmaids and bridal "little white dresses" for rent. We're all about commitment on the "Big Day" but not so much for friends of the bride! This is a simple way to achieve a complete bridal party look without overwhelming your party with the extra cost of an expensive bridesmaid dress.

How it Works

Fair warning to future brides: The offerings are limited. Three of my favorite designers: ML Monique Lhuillier, Tadashi Shoji and Theia only offer the "little white dress." Also, some of the rental fees are only 50% of the retail price. So, you have to ask yourself, would you pay $95 if the dress only cost $225? I'm not sure I would.

Here are some out of the bridesmaid box dresses I would consider.
